This page explains what Yappen collects, why, and what we never do with it. Plain language, because that is the point of the product too.

What we collect

When you build an assistant, you give us the address of your website. We read the public pages to write a brief for your assistant. We do not log into anything and we do not read anything that is not publicly visible.

To place the demo call, you give us a phone number. It is used to make that one call and to reach you about Yappen. It is not sold and not passed to third parties.

When you become a customer, we hold your business name, contact details, your assistant's script, and a transcript of each call your assistant handles, so that you can review the work in your workspace.

Calls

Calls made and received by your assistant are recorded and transcribed so you have a record. Callers are told they are speaking with an AI. You can have a recording or transcript deleted on request.

Website measurement

Our website uses the Meta pixel to measure whether our advertising works. It records that a page was viewed and whether a demo was requested. It does not read your website's content and it is not connected to the calls your assistant handles. You can block it with any standard tracker blocker.

Where data lives and who processes it

We use a small set of processors to run the service: a hosting provider for the website and workspace, a telephony and voice provider to place and transcribe calls, a payment provider for billing, and a language model provider to draft the assistant. Each receives only what it needs for its part.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hallo@yappenai.com and we will act within a reasonable time.

Retention

Demo data is kept briefly and then removed. Customer data is kept while the account is active and for as long as we are required to keep billing records, then deleted.
